Baked ravioli

Remember when I made toasted ravioli bites?  I had some ravioli left from that recipe so when I came across this pin, I knew it was the perfect way to enjoy ravioli again – this time in meal form. This recipe is layered very similarly to lasagna and I made the sauce the way I would if I was making spaghetti.  An easy, delicious twist on a new {for us} Italian dish. Prep time: 20 minutes; total time: 60 minutes Ingredients >>1lb ground beef >>garlic salt, onion powder {or however you prefer to season your spaghetti meat sauce} >>spaghetti sauce… Read More

My favorite things about marriage | 5 years

Today is our fifth wedding anniversary.  Half a decade.  Longer than it takes to graduate from college.  Longer than a presidential term. But we’re just getting started. In some ways, I can remember it like it was yesterday.  After our rehearsal dinner, things must have been hectic because we got in separate cars to go separate ways.  He called my phone and as soon as I answered, I was met with, “Babe, I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.”  I melted.  I can remember where I was standing and exactly how I felt at that moment.  He’s not… Read More

Crock pot pork tenderloin

I’m in love with my crock pot.  It just makes life so easy and I’m all about that – especially in the kitchen.  Throw it in there in the morning, get it out at dinner time?  That’s my kinda life.  It also makes me feel very accomplished first thing in the morning. You can find the original recipe on Pinterest here, but as usual, I changed a few things up. Ingredients >>1-2 lb pork tenderloin >>1 packet dry onion soup mix >>1 cup red wine >>3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce >>garlic pepper – seasoned to taste >>garlic salt – seasoned to… Read More

Striped midi skirt

Remember this view?   Even though I pulled out every dress in my closet only to discover none of them would zip, I did find an elastic-waisted midi skirt that still fit.  Plus, no clothes to wear resulted in a shopping trip so I really can’t complain.         On our way home from church, it was starting to rain but The Photographer said it wasn’t at our house.  Wouldn’t you know, it started while he was snapping these pictures for me?  I’m so into the layered necklaces look right now and for as much frustration as this… Read More

Weekending + the diary of a {pregnant} girl with nothing to wear

Don’t hate me, but Mondays are a little more bearable in the summer.  #teacherlife  Today I’m planning to get a few things done around the house, maybe tune into a little of The Open and then head to Greenville to do a furniture swap with my sister.  {Side note: I texted my dad yesterday morning to ask when this golf tournament became known simply as The Open instead of The British Open.  Anybody else a Jordan Spieth fan?} On Friday, I tried a new and somewhat made-up recipe for dinner.  And considering we ate the leftovers yesterday and today, I’ll… Read More

Favorites on a summer Friday

via I was shopping with a friend the other day – she’s also in education – and we were like, “how do people without a real summer get anything done?”  There have been summers when I have taken it for granted but not this one! Megan’s always such a big supporter of the blog and my Etsy shop and yesterday she encouraged me to add some new cards to the shop.  I was having some technical difficulties and… here was our conversation last night. I mean, I’ll be a pimp. And you should totally check out her blog, That Wasn’t… Read More

Two ways to wear | a summer dress

Don’t fall out of your chair, ok?  Is February 11 really the last time I did a two ways to wear?  Holy slacking.  Back in the days when I actually blogged on a regular basis, I was constantly thinking about what my two ways to wear post could be for that week.  Aaaaand then I got pregnant and never felt like getting off the sofa taking pictures. I can’t use that excuse anymore because I’ve been feeling really good for a while now.  But it my defense, it’s summer.  Which means traveling and never fixing my hair and you just don’t… Read More

Five years from today, what will the world be like?  What will my life be like?  If there’s one thing I’ve learned in the last five years, it’s that God opens {and closes} doors in His time – which is not always usually hardly ever my time.  I’ve learned how important it is to just go with the flow and pray like crazy because life doesn’t happen according to my “plans.” With all that being said, I’ve spent some time recently thinking about the future.  I’ve been on a huge organizing kick because our house is ridiculously and embarrassingly out of… Read More

Life Lately

Hiiiiiii, friends!  It’s been too long.  Remember the organizing for on the Summer Bucket List I had planned?  Well, let me just tell you that organizing takes foreverrrrr.  And that what I wrote down to accomplish this summer was only the tip of the iceberg.  I’ve gotten some stuff checked off the list but then it just shows me how much more I need to get done.  And it leaves no time for blogging.  #sadface But here’s a few things that have been going on around here. Refinishing: furniture for Baby Girl’s nursery.  Kaitlyn and Mom came this weekend and we… Read More
