I’m amazed that we’re at the end of the month already! And I’m loving that the time is flying by these days… but at the same time, my to do list before Baby Girl gets here isn’t getting accomplished. Eeeek! Here’s what we’ve been up to lately!
What we’re eating | My friend Angelica posted this beef stew recipe recently and I knew I had to try it. When she gave me the crockpot version, it was clearly meant-to-be. Oh so delicious and keep an eye out for the recipe coming to a blog near you. It’s my new recipe for September!
I realize now that you can’t even see the soup at all but when it’s this good, one photo is all there’s time for. Better pictures to come? Possibly.
What I’m reminiscing | when I actually used to sleep.
What I’m loving | This quote from Meghan. I think I need to hang it up in my classroom. And house. And car. Maybe I should just have it tattooed on my forehead.
What we’ve been up to | Two weekends ago we went to meet our niece. Last weekend we were in Winston. I always love a little change of scenery but when you string a few weekends together of getting back late on Sunday, it makes me feel unprepared for the week. So I’m currently behind on laundry, Baby Girl’s room, blogging and housework. All worth it to create memories, right?
What I’m dreading | What a blessing if I’m sitting here staring at this one. The only things that come to mind are something like “doing laundry tomorrow” but that’s not exactly a dreaded item. I’m making a point to enjoy every single second before Baby Girl gets here instead of wishing these last few weeks away.
What I’m working on | The nursery! It still needs to be organized and I need to do more crafting on the collage but it’s coming along. I’m so excited to see it all put together! I just need to find the time to actually work on it for more than 5 minutes.
What I’m excited about | We have a few baby showers coming up soon so it will be fun to see friends and family. And how adorable is this invitation?
What I’m watching | Parenthood, of course. We haven’t had as much time to watch recently but the last episode we watched was when Christina goes into labor and can’t get in touch with Adam. You should have seen me wagging my finger at David telling him that he better keep his phone with him at all times.
And we also rented Aloha Monday night. I wasn’t a fan. Have you seen it?
What I’m listening to | When we first started the school year, we had the ability to listen to Pandora from the school computer and then it got blocked a few weeks ago. <<Insert crying face here.>> I’d listen to music all day every day if I could and it made me really happy to be able to play some low-key music in my classroom. But now that they won’t let me, I think I’ll just make some mix CDs and go with that.
What I’m wearing | I wish I was wearing all these from my fall wish list. But specifically these booties.
And this fun kimono.
What I’m doing this weekend | We’re headed to Greenville, SC to watch the conference player of the week throw down. And we’ll have lots of family in town.
What I’m looking forward to next month | Getting everything completed in her nursery. Two teacher workdays at school. A mountain getaway with David. A field trip with some really great kids. Getting bigger and not sleeping… oh wait.
What else is new | We’ve been in birthing class over the last couple of weeks. I just can’t help thinking of this scene from one of the greatest movies ever made.
