Baby Girl,
The thought of meeting you in less than three months is so exciting. I often wonder what facial expressions you’ll make. Will you get the hiccups as much once you’re born as you do while you live in my belly? Will you be a good sleeper or will you wake up at all hours of the night?
Every time I feel you move, I just imagine you saying, “Hi, Mom!” It’s your way of telling me everything’s ok. When the days at work are busy and I finally get to sit down at my desk at the end of the day and I feel you kick, it brings the biggest smile to my face.
Oh, Baby Girl, I can’t wait to see your daddy with you. He’s going to have so much fun learning every little thing about you! I can just imagine him rocking you to sleep and kissing your head. He’ll probably overthink everything in an effort to always make sure you’re always as comfortable as possible. He’s going to have so much fun taking you to basketball games and going fishing… two things he’s already talking about! You may have to teach him a thing or two about girls because that’s kind of a foreign concept to him.
I know there’s so many things that you’ll teach all of us. I’m trying to learn to be more flexible because I know you’re going to come out ready to rule the schedule! What will Christmas be like this year? I remember last Christmas was spent relaxing and coaching basketball. I’m thinking this one may take on a new normal.
What a privilege it has been to have you with me for the last 30 weeks. Here’s to 10 or 12 more and then getting to know you in an entirely new way. Baby Girl, you are truly our greatest adventure already.
Love,
Mom
