Most importantly, it’s not the first trimester. {Where are the emojis on my laptop? Because I need the hands clapping one and the heart eyes. Come on, Apple.}
Oh second trimester, how I love you. Yes, you came with some of your own challenges but I prefer you to the first trimester any day of the week. During this stretch, I didn’t have to ask David, “Will I ever feel like myself again?” Baby Girl is making herself so much more visible but I think I can handle that.
Favorite moments include…
+ learning we were having a Baby Girl
+ feeling her move all the time
+ watching my stomach roll while she has dance parties in there
+ discussing names, even if it is a lot of pressure
+ noticing how quickly time seemed to pass
+ searching Pinterest for nursery inspiration and then seeing it start to come to life
+ daydreaming about what she’ll be like as a newborn, toddler, little girl, teenager
Not so favorite moments include…
+ bending over to pick something up
+ breathing – she really likes my lungs
+ getting carsick when we travel
+ sleeping less at night
+ extremely dry skin
Although there a few things that have been learning curves, I’ve loved feeling so bonded to her during this second trimester. I feel like I’m starting to have the tiniest glimpse of a mother’s love. Just feeling her tiny hands and feet move is the sweetest thing in the world. I can’t wait to kiss her little cheeks and grab her tiny fingers and get to see all of her facial expressions.
