Goals for September

This summer, I just did one big to-do list and I’m pretty happy with the amount of things that got checked off.  But now that’s its back to school time, I’ve got to focus in on the things I want to accomplish this month.  And I’m really excited for some cooler temps and the beginning of soup and chili season!

Have devotions every morning
My day just seems to get off to such a better start when I’m focused on the right things.

Baby Girl’s room
There are so many things that I need to get done in there but I’m waiting to finalize the decor until I see the chair in there.  I don’t want to have things up on the wall and then realize that I need to move furniture around.  Her chair has been ordered and is supposed to be delivered by Labor Day.  {Fingers crossed!}  I have tons of ideas for a wall collage and I can’t wait to actually start designing some of this stuff!  I also really need to organize the clothes that we have right now so as we get more at showers, they have a specific place to go.
The registry has got to get finished up, too!  {Mostly because I’m tired of it hanging over my head.}  A few last decisions to make and then we’re done.

Do something fun for Labor Day
If we just get to pick up her chair, I’ll be a happy woman.  {I mean, the fact that we’ll have a four day week right after that makes just about anything you do that weekend “fun.”}

Make a new recipe
Because who doesn’t need a little extra motivation to cook something out of the ordinary?

What do you have planned for the month?  Write it down, you’ll be more likely to get it accomplished.

So happy for soup season!!! I want to try out lots of new recipes this Fall!! Sometimes I get in a dinner rut with “what to make?” this week!! Wow, September tomorrow!!! Just think two more months til sweet baby girl is here!!!! 😉

  • Email me where you are registered, please! I am starting to get that fall itch and I cannot wait to see what you are going to make in the kitchen!!!

  • Morning devotions are the best way to start the day! You know I love testing out a new recipe, so obviously I’m a fan of that goal! :)

    • It makes such a difference doesn’t it? Still haven’t found my recipe for this month but I’m searching 😉

Yay for soup and chili season! My favorite time of the year! I can’t believe Labor Day is next weekend, where did the time go?

  • Good luck with back to school! Finishing up the nursery is so much fun as well as the anticipation of your baby girl, such a fun time!

    • We finally got the rocking chair which was the last big piece. Now it’s on to the fun stuff like wall decor!

  • Cheers to starting your mornings off on the right food and finishing up baby girl’s room. Can’t wait to see it all finished and ready for her arrival <3

  • Eeek, I should really start thinking about a nursery! I can’t wait to see how you decorate!

  • Great goals! I can’t believe September is already here! This year is seriously flying by! I’m excited for Labor Day. I think we are going to try to go to our local amusement park since we have season passes that we’ve barely used. LOL

    • Oooh, that sounds so fun! We’re in the furniture moving process at the moment but heading out to lunch soon. That counts as fun, right? :)

  • It must be so exciting getting everything ready for your sweet girl! I’ve been reading the daily devotions from Max Lucado most mornings since they get sent straight to my inbox at work, but on of my goals this month is making an effort to do devotions together with Tyler too! Do you follow a particular plan or anything?

    • I love doing the devotions together and sometimes we’re really good at it and then other times we slack off. We really like Jesus Calling because it’s so powerful yet doesn’t take forever. David also has an app on his phone {can’t remember what it’s called} that we use sometimes. Last month we read through Proverbs and that was the first time we’d ever done that.

Great goals! I need to be better about writing things down. It helps keep you focused!

  • I can’t wait to see how Baby Girl’s nursery turns out! Hope y’all get some relaxing in over Labor Day! :)

    • And chili’s totally in the crockpot right now. Early September is definitely a record for me but it just sounded too delicious to pass up.

  • Good luck with your monthly goals. Can’t wait to see what recipe you come up with!

  • I have to do something like this! I love starting the day this way, it just gives me so much freedom

Bah haha love that the whole “4 day week” that follows makes the weekend itself seem fun! Maybe we can get a chance to meet up at some point over the long weekend? Dinner or something?

    • Hey, four day weeks are what I live for 😉 For real – why don’t we do this more often? You wouldn’t have wanted me this weekend – I’m all stopped up cough-y.

Love this! Your goals are great! xo

  • I’d like my September goal to be “figure out Disqus” so I can cross it out as accomplished. #TechnologyChallengedSometimes
