1. She’s been there for you, no matter what. For your entire life. I mean, the list could end right here.
2. She came to everything you ever participated in. Dance recitals, ball games, school plays… she was there for all of it. Even the really boring stuff.
3. Was it just me, or was Mom the best person to wake you up when you still lived at home? She used to rub my back and be so patient with my teenage-grumpy-in-the-morning-self.
4. She tried to change your mind about all the little details of your wedding. Mine wanted the bridesmaids to have sashes and she totally doubted me on the location of our reception. Good thing I didn’t listen to her on either account.
5. Who else is going to laugh when she finds out all the stories you and your siblings made sure she didn’t know until years later? Like that time you and your brother got into a knock-down drag-out fight over cookie dough.
6. Mom gives the best life advice. No matter how old you are. Actually it probably gets better with age.
7. She’s a terrible texter so you get lots of laughs trying to decipher her messages. And she’s learned how to use emojis. #inserthearteyeshere
8. And speaking of laughter, can you think of anyone with a more contagious laugh? Her’s just makes everyone around her laugh.
9. Mom’s the one you call first in a crisis. Cooking advice? Mom. Don’t understand your mortgage? Mom. Afraid of failing a class in college? Mom.
10. And these are just the things you remember. What about everything she did for you when you were a baby? Yep, pretty sure there’s no one better.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the hardworking, caring, generous moms out there. Your families appreciate you more than you know! And to my mommy – glad I could be your success story!
