Us & date nights
Ok, real talk here. We’re not really good at “date nights.” You know how some couples carve out time for each other once a week? And they go and do fun things and put the rest of life on hold while they’re out?
Yeah, not us. We actually spend as much time together as possible. But it’s doing things like organizing the office – we did that together on Sunday and we were both really excited about it. Or we coach together. There were many nights during basketball season that we would spend the evening watch 4 high school basketball games and talk about things like which defense worked, who rebounded well, and what drills needed to be run in practice the next day.
And then we would get home and I would think, Oh yeah. How was your day, Babe?
Now that basketball season is officially over we have a little more time on our hands. #neededthat
David’s a huge fan of going out to eat… for like, every meal. What? Is my cooking not good enough for ya? Just kidding.
So we’re not good at date nights. Know what we’re even worse at? Cooking together. I always envy those people who cook together. But when we were in Greenville last weekend, we went to this Italian spot downtown. David loved his meal and said he wanted to recreate it. Ok, so we may not be any good at cooking together I discovered that if he cooks and I take pictures of the food… it works out perfectly.
And I did manage to put the bread in the oven. So that counts for something, right?
The Look
Pastels & Stripes
I pulled these aqua pants out of the closet – they had gotten stuffed back there from a few years ago. I love how comfy these pants are. They express my readiness for Spring. The weather, the bright colors… where are you? But if I’m being honest…the shoes are my favorite part.
The Meal
Chicken Parmesan
David ordered chicken parmesan when we were at an Italian restaurant with Kaitlyn and Andre last weekend. He really liked this one so he said he wanted to recreate it at home. My favorite part was that it included squash and zucchini because those are vegetables we haven’t had in our rotation in a while. He sautéed the chicken, sautéed the squash and zucchini, mixed some tomato sauce in with in and poured in over spaghetti pasta. {Don’t forget the bread I added!}
It was a delicious meal and I love that he treated me to a home cooked meal. He’s been doing that more recently and I’m not hating it.
Then we went to our friends’ house to watch a basketball game and play with their puppy. {Copper was jealous and his nose was on everything when we got back.}
