Valentine’s Day is upon us and it just blows my mind that we’re already halfway through February. To me, Valentine’s Day is kind of a ridiculous notion… every girl is supposed to consider it romantic to receive red roses on the exact same day as every other girl in the world.
Let me just go ahead and tell you that since David has yet to figure out/remember that Valentine’s Day is TOMORROW, there will be none of that around here.
Saturday night, we were at Scott and Sarah’s… The conversation went something like this…
Scott: What are y’all doing for Valentine’s Day?
Dave: When is it?
Everyone else: Laughter
Even after being told it was on Saturday, he told me two days ago he was going to a cookout at one of high school buddy’s homes.
Ok. You know why? Because he’s the real kind of romantic. The one who helps with the dishes. The one who has cooked dinner at least twice this week. The one who calls to check on me. The one who kisses me goodbye every morning when he leaves for work. The one who takes me to dinner. The one who buys me bracelets off of his living social app because he knows how much I love my arm candy. The one who stops at the grocery story on his way home from work. The one who takes me on weekend trips. The one who coaches with me. The one who watches the chick flicks with me. The one who takes me on the lake in the summertime.
But even if you don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day like everyone else does, here are a few things you can do for your man.
ONE
make his favorite meal
#StrawberryPretzelSalad
TWO
watch a movie with him
THREE
do something that is usually his responsibility
#IGuessImTakingOutTheTrash
FOUR
write him a note telling him how much he means to you
FIVE
take him out to brunch or lunch
Zaxby’s, anyone?
If all this pink and red has you in the mood for a love story, here’s a really great one!
