{The non-cliche way to be} the lady in red

I just recently discovered The Creative Closet linkup hosted by Jana and Maegen and I love participating in their weekly outfit ideas.  When they announced their December lineup though, I wasn’t sold on today’s post {which called for lady in red}.

I mean, lezzbehonest.  My closet is all greens, blues, teals and neutrals.  I have one red shirt but I really don’t even like to be that girl at Christmas who wears red to every event.

Scratch that.  I try to avoid cliche Christmas red at all costs.

But red shoes?  Mmm… I love this little pop of color and the interest it adds!

  • Your pop of red is perfect!! I’m not a huge fan of red either, but I do have one “work” jacket I pair with a black dress and that’s about the extent of my red as well LOL!!

  • I love the pop of red with the shoes. I am definitely one of those people that always tries to wear red on Christmas hahaha! I blame my mom. She always made us dress that way when I was little and it just carried over into my adulthood. haha

    • Haha! It’s funny the things our moms instill in us, isn’t it? Don’t worry – I’m pretty sure you’re the normal one and I’m the weird one for not wanting to wear it.

    Love the pop of red! I used to wear red a lot more when I was younger–tons of stuff in my closet was red, but I really don’t wear it as much anymore. I definitely love it as an accent color though. :)
