Andrea nominated me for this fun challenge. Here’s the rules: the person “tagged” must share 10 things they love, 10 things they hate, and then nominate up to 10 other bloggers to do the same! It’s a great way to get to know others!
I really tried to come up with 10 loves and hates that went beyond the obvious. You know, so I didn’t include things like a day off as something I love or getting in a car wreck on my hate list. {Hate list, that sounds bad, doesn’t it?} Life’s all about the little things so these are a few little things that I just love… and hate!
L O V E S
1. Sleeping in. It’s one of my favorite things about the weekend. And sometimes it makes me feel really old that sleeping in is now 7:30. In college, I slept til noon.
2. Good music. When a great song comes on the radio, it just makes my heart happy. Sometimes it’s a throwback to rock out to or maybe my favorite new song… either way it’s a LOVE, for sure.
3. Chapstick. Especially if it smells good.
4. Plans. The kind with best friends that are last minute and they come together beautifully without tons of work.
5. Surprises. The good kind of course but surprises are so fun to me. I’m never even tempted to peek at birthday presents or ask a million questions if I know a surprise is being planned.
6. Morning routines. I love spending time with David in the morning. Sometimes we get into deep conversations, sometimes we laugh hysterically and sometimes we’re just in the same room together but I love having that time with him.
7. Social media. I know it can get a bad rap, but I love being able to connect with a variety of different people. Coworkers, friends I see all the time, childhood friends, college friends…
8. Laughing until I cry. My brother is one of the few people who can make me laugh until I cry and it’s just the best feeling ever.
9. Being on the lake. Ok maybe this one is really obvious but it’s one of my favorite places ever. Sometimes we take a group of friends and eat, drink, ski and tube to our heart’s content all day long. Other times it’s just the two of us and we go out there in the evening to relax.
10. The Little One. We’re overjoyed for our little one to arrive in November. I’ve been feeling much better and we’re nearing the mark of finding out {boy? girl?} and the halfway mark. I’m excited for some of the fun things to start happening.
H A T E S
1. Laziness. I can’t handle people who don’t work hard for something.
2. Running late. But it’s just in my blood. No matter how I try to avoid it, I was born a Pierce and Pierces are always late. #endofstory
3. Not being able to brush my teeth. I have this weird thing about brushing my teeth regularly and when I’m home, I do it several times throughout the day. But it really annoys me when my teeth start to feel funky and I can’t brush them. Ironically, I ALWAYS forget my toothbrush when we go on trips and if it makes it to our destination, it’s because David has packed it for me. #targetrun
4. Attitudes and drama. When people get an attitude for no reason it just makes me roll my eyes. I was waiting in line at the post office the other day, and the lady behind the counter was giving a man his shipping options for the box he was sending. I have no clue where he was trying to have this box delivered, but apparently it was a remote location and there was no next day delivery option. He was trying to decide what option to go with and for no reason, she comes out with, “It’s not my fault. Don’t look at me like that. I don’t make the rules. I’m just reading you the options.” Calm down, people.
5. No songs on the radio. I HATE it when all of my preset stations are playing commercials at the same time. Shouldn’t you guys coordinate this a little better?
6. Having to wait at a restaurant. I think every restaurant should adopt Outback’s policy on this one: the entire bar area is first come, first serve. It’s miraculous.
7. Vacuuming. Ugh, our vacuum cleaner is terrible and we have to vacuum like everyday. #thankyouCopper
8. Comments. The kind that people can get away with because they try to disguise it as a compliment but it’s really not meant that way at all. Like, “You’re so skinny, do you ever eat?” Ok, seriously you aren’t even trying to be nice. And if you ever spent any amount of time with me, you’d know I eat. And size 4 or 6 is not some crazy, anorexic size.
9. A phone call when you could text. I’m so not a phone talker. Or, more accurately, I’m not a chit-chatter on the phone. If we need to talk to figure out something and it takes a few minutes – I’m down with that. If what you’re calling about could have been sent in one text because it’s 20 words or less – send that text!
10. When I procrastinate. In school, I procrastinated all the time. I still do it some but it always makes things more difficult. And then I beat myself up because I should have just done it in the first place.
