When Jana and Maegen posted their January lineup The Creative Closet linkup, today’s prompt caught my eye immediately.
Style icon.
Who is my style icon? When no one immediately came to mind, the English teacher nerd inside of me started thinking about the definition of an icon.
Here’s what the Internet had to say about it:
1. a person who is very successful and admired
2. a widely known symbol
One of my favorite things about style is how it’s always evolving. I love how things go out and come back in. Change – it’s the great constant.
So with the ever-changing style, my style icon award goes to Pinterest.
Weird, I know. But here’s why:
>>I can always depend on it to give me some inspiration when I’m not sure what to wear
>>It has tons of options
>>Sometimes I can even shop directly from a pin
Really, do you need anything else?
You do? Ok.
I just so happens that I’ve had a faux leather vest on my wish list for… ehh, let’s say forever. {Really, it was more like a couple of weeks but when you’re impatient, that feels like forever.} But the problem was I could NOT find one anywhere. In the store, online. Nothing. The few that I did find were out of my price range {no matter how badly I want it, I’m not dropping $200 on it} or out of stock. Seriously. Anybody else have this problem? I found several online but they were all sold out. I mean, what the heck?
Then last week I came across Leanne’s post about Sheinside. I had never heard of it but she had some really cute picks and she said they were affordable so I jumped on a limb and checked out their website. And by checked out I mean typed “faux fur vest” in their search bar immediately.
Ahhh, the possibilities! After much deliberation {and phone calls to Kaitlyn} I ended up with this one…
My deliberation was full of Pinterest searching. With Kaitlyn’s help, I created a board just for faux fur vests. 
And I pretty much came to the conclusion that any neutral vest will work with almost any pairing.
