My favorite thing about fall and winter is layering up. I’m a big fan of scarves and cardigans… I usually have one or both on in the cooler months.
But I felt like I needed some style inspiration so I hit up Pinterest. {Naturally.}
Let’s add a little something to this, how ’bout it? I’m going to try to branch out and layer up in some new ways. Here are my goals.
1. Layer scarves in a new way.
My go-to with scarves is the infinity style or tying a regular scarf to look like it’s an infinity scarf. But my new goal is to wear a scarf just thrown around my neck without tying it. {Like the bottom left corner}
2. Wear my chambray shirt unbuttoned with something over and under it.
I keep seeing this look everywhere but I can’t pull it off. I tried it on that way this weekend and it just didn’t look right. Maybe I’m just not pairing it with the right stuff? I’m going to keep working on it, though. {Post is here in case you missed it.}
3. Layer necklaces.
I need to find necklaces that are the right lengths. I’m digging the look of three necklaces layered. I feel like they need to be really basic styles.
4. Go preppy.
Remember Megan’s boyfriend button-up that I’m on the watch for? {Not her boyfriend… her boyfriend shirt.} I really want to do one of those with a sweater over top and a chunky necklace. {Post is here, in case you missed it.}
5. Incorporate a vest
I used to think that vests were kind of like crocs… only people without any kind of style wear them. {And by the way, I’m talking about the original crocs. The big clog-looking ones that only come in bright colors and have huge holes on top. You know… the ones that shouldn’t be worn by people over the age 8? I can say all this because I had a pair in college.} But back to the vest… maybe I’ll incorporate one into my fall/winter wardrobe. They’re growing on me.
Whew, that’s a lot of goals… more than I had envisioned. What is your go-to for the {fast-approaching} winter months?
Today, I’m linking up for the first time with Joey at Hodges Podges and kristin at Kristin’s kNook for Stuff and Things.
